How We Work
3D landscape design is an immersive visualization process that lets you experience your future outdoor space before any construction begins. We create detailed three-dimensional models of your property showing proposed plantings, stonework, pathways, and structures from every angle. Unlike flat drawings or rough sketches, our 3D renderings let you walk through the design virtually — understanding proportions, sight lines, and how the space will feel at different times of day. This process eliminates surprises and ensures you are completely confident in the design before we break ground.
Our Listen, Design, Build process typically takes two to four weeks from initial consultation to a finished 3D design. The timeline depends on the scope and complexity of the project. Simple garden designs or single-feature installations may be ready in ten days. Comprehensive property transformations with multiple zones, hardscaping, water features, and lighting can take closer to four weeks. We do not rush the design phase because getting it right here saves time, money, and frustration during installation.
The initial consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure visit to your property. We walk the land together and listen — to your vision, your lifestyle, and how you want to feel in your outdoor space. We observe the natural conditions: sun exposure, drainage patterns, existing vegetation, soil character, and views worth framing or screening. We discuss your budget range and timeline so we can design something both beautiful and achievable. There is no obligation, and the consultation is completely free. Schedule yours here.
Absolutely. That is one of the greatest advantages of 3D design visualization. Once you see the rendering, you can request adjustments — perhaps widening a pathway, repositioning a fire pit, changing a plant species, or adding landscape lighting to a particular area. We refine the model until every detail feels right. Most designs go through one to two revision rounds, and the result is a plan you feel completely connected to before any physical work begins.
What We Offer
Natural stone — such as flagstone, bluestone, or coquina — is quarried directly from the earth. No two pieces are identical, and each carries unique color variations, textures, and grain patterns that develop richer character over time. Concrete pavers are manufactured products designed to mimic the look of stone but are uniform in shape and color. While concrete pavers cost less upfront, natural stone ages with grace, develops a beautiful patina, and creates a sense of permanence that manufactured materials cannot replicate. We specialize in natural stone hardscaping because we believe the difference is felt, not just seen.
Yes. Landscape lighting is one of the most transformative elements we design. Thoughtful lighting extends the hours you can enjoy your outdoor space, highlights architectural plantings and stonework, and adds an element of safety along pathways and steps. We design lighting as part of the overall landscape plan — not as an afterthought — so that every fixture serves both a functional and aesthetic purpose. We use warm-tone LED fixtures that complement the naturalistic feel of our designs.
We are a design-first firm that partners with trusted local contractors for installation. This model lets us focus entirely on creating the best possible design while relying on skilled tradespeople for construction. For custom stonework — retaining walls, patios, and hand-placed features — we often do the work ourselves because placing each stone by hand is a core part of our craft. Our oversight continues throughout the build process to ensure the finished result matches the 3D design precisely.
We design and build a range of fire features including natural stone fire pits, fire bowls, linear fire features, and full outdoor fireplace hearths. Every fire feature is designed as part of the broader landscape composition — scaled to the space, oriented for wind patterns and seating flow, and built with natural stone that complements the surrounding design. Whether you want an intimate gathering circle or a statement fireplace, we create features that become the social heart of your outdoor living space.
Investment and Timeline
Landscape design costs in Fernandina Beach and the greater Northeast Florida area vary based on the scope and complexity of the project. A design-only package for a single outdoor zone typically starts around $1,500 to $3,000. Comprehensive property designs with 3D visualization, multiple zones, hardscaping, planting plans, and lighting design range from $3,000 to $8,000 or more. Full design-and-build projects — including installation — range widely based on materials and scope. We provide transparent pricing after the initial consultation so there are no surprises. We understand that a well-designed outdoor space is a significant investment. We offer flexible payment structures for larger projects, typically dividing the cost into phases: a design deposit, a materials deposit, and progress payments during installation. This phased approach makes it easier to plan financially while ensuring the project moves forward smoothly. We are happy to discuss payment options during your free consultation.
Northeast Florida's mild winters make fall through early spring the ideal time for planting and installation. The cooler temperatures allow plants to establish root systems before the summer heat arrives. Hardscaping — stone walls, patios, and pathways — can be installed year-round since it is less dependent on growing conditions. We recommend starting the design process at least six to eight weeks before your preferred installation window so we have time to develop a thoughtful 3D plan without rushing.
Where We Work
Yes. While we are based on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, we regularly serve homeowners in Jacksonville and throughout Duval County. Our team understands the distinct conditions across Northeast Florida — from the salt-tolerant requirements of coastal properties to the clay soils and mature oak canopies found further inland. We also serve Yulee, Nassau County, and surrounding communities.
We primarily serve a six-community radius around Fernandina Beach, including Amelia Island, Yulee, Jacksonville, and the greater Nassau and Duval County areas. For larger or unique projects, we are willing to travel further within Northeast Florida. If your property is outside our typical service area, reach out to us — we are always open to a conversation about exceptional projects regardless of location.
Absolutely. Barrier island and waterfront properties are among our specialties. Designing for these environments requires specific knowledge of salt-tolerant plant species, wind exposure management, sand-based soil conditions, and local building regulations. Our experience on Amelia Island has given us deep familiarity with the unique challenges and extraordinary opportunities that coastal properties present. We select materials and plants that not only survive but thrive in the salt air and sandy soils of Florida's barrier islands.
